It is not just for kids or preteens. There is such a diverse mix of characters that there is something for everyone. Also there is nothing that would make you question if it's okay for your kids to read. You don't have to worry about nasty language, or situations.

The characters, setting and storyline is so believable, you can just see everything unfolding as it happens. I won't give any spoilers but in Chamber of Ghosts there were several chapters where I found myself frustrated with some of the things Hal choose to do, and then further in the book you find yourself cheering for Hal when things start to come together. To me thoose are some of the things that make for such a great read! I'll be quietly reading and the next thing I know my husband is asking, "Why are you yelling NO at your book?
It is so engrossing, you just can't put them down. I don't know how many times I told my self, just one more chapter and then would look over at the clock and see that it was A. Keith Robinson is an extremly gifted storyteller and I look forward to many, many more wonderful works from him. Also if you are a reader that just can not stand typos, misspelled words and words that are incorrectly used, you don't need to worry about that with any of Keiths books!
I was lucky enough to happen upon the Island of Fog series less than a year ago and have read all 6 now to my whole family. I really can't say enough good about the series. Every one of the books are full of surprises that you just don't expect. Masterfully written and developed into a series of events that just don't let you put the books down! After each book, my family couldn't stop talking about the characters or events. Chamber of Ghosts is a fun and creative read! Keith does a great job of getting his expansive imagination onto paper, and the adventures of these shape-shifting kids are anything BUT normal!
I'm going to have to go back and read the other books in the series to get to know all the characters better. It was a pleasure to read and enjoyable all the way around. Great job Keith! Read this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have been reading Keith's books to my 2 younger children 7 and 10 and they are enthralled. I'm sure they both will enjoy this equally as much. A pleasing addition to an excellent YA series, "Chamber of Ghosts" ups the ante in terms of challenges faced by Hal and his shapeshifter compatriots. As if having to deal with trolls, werewolves, ghosts, and heavily armed soldiers from "our" world weren't enough, Hal also finds himself trapped in a bizarre reality where a strange entity urges him to perform an act that will either help or devastate his adopted home.
Author Robinson's writing is, as always, crisp and beautifully simple. I love the w hole series, very intriguing story, beautiful fleshed out characters etc etc, but I also like stories to come to an end. I was very looking forward for a nice wrap up, of course with a tear in the corner of my eyes for letting go, BUT it's important to let go eventually.
